WoG: Maturity Rite [2] Morpheus

    Grunting with the effort, Morpheus climbed up rock after rock. His journey into the territory of Thrymheim had stretched into three days so far, and he was relieved to find that he was actually doing relatively well.

Finally reaching the top of the cliff, he gazes out at the large expanse of territory, still yet to be explored. Dawn was slowly approaching, coating the land with orange and red. He gave a stretch and turned around, ready to head down the other side of the cliff when suddenly there is a noise from behind and a large shadow steps swiftly from behind a boulder. The creature lets out a low growl, long tail swishing behind it angrily.

Morpheus whips around, lips pulling back in a snarl. Eyes focusing upon the animal, he realizes it's a large cat of some sort, though it was one he had never come across. The cat lunges at him, claws scraping down his back leg as he dodges out of the way from the brunt of the attack. He can feel the blood pool slowly from his wound as he begins to back up, knowing he was being pushed to the edge of the cliff. Perhaps he could use that to his advantage...

The cat stalks closer, licking it's salivating lips and lunges once more. This time, Morpheus had been ready; he side-steps to the right, the cat missing him by mere inches. With a howl of fury, the beast falls from the edge of the cliff, it's body twisting and legs sprawled.

Morpheus looks down the cliff, expecting to see a broken and mangled body, but instead he sees the cat wobble unsteadily on it's paws before running off with one last glare behind it. 

The wolf gives a breath of relief and heads off to lick his wounds, a bit shaken up, but glad he had only gotten away with a few scratches. He had gotten lucky.

Test two complete. Are you guys getting bored of this guy yet? lol I promise I'll only be uploading one more image of him before you can have a break from him.

I am so sorry that the writing isn't the best...I just couldn't think straight. Also, I didn't kill off the cougar because I wanted to play off the whole 'cats always land on their feet' thing :'p the cliff also wasn't up as high, but if Morpheus would've fallen he probably would've gotten a bit more injured since he isn't as agile as a cat.
